Last
whole day in NZ. Sad and wistful. Today
we went
down to Christchurch city
center
to do some shopping and enjoy the lovely
weather. Going down to Cathedral-square we
where having a tremendous day. As I said
earlier NZ people (and the tourists ofcouse)
where also having a nice late summer day with
no stress like they seems to be spared from.
We looked at jugglers, street
chess, listened
to Los
Incas playing the
street, went up in the church
tower, ate some falafel
and some lovely ice-cream made from fresh
frozen berries and enjoyed.
We met a Swedish girl that had lived and married in NZ, now working on a Christchurch newspaper as photographer. She confirmed our feelings about NZ and did not seemed any longing for leaving this country.
Maybe I sound overly positive about this country because our holiday is soon ending. But even if I take off half of my admire for this country I still find myself over the level I have ever felt about a country, its culture and pace. We have only met 2 frustrated people in 18 days, and we have met so many people loving what they do and having time with each-other and strangers. It is not only the landscape that is breathtaking it is also its people.
